Kurt Reppart
Project Scope: Chair of Marketing and Communications Strategy for Campaign
Project Length: 24 Months
Megan worked collaboratively with campaign leaders and candidate Kurt Reppart for a commissioner seat for Grand Rapids. Megan was hired to coordinate strategy in his campaign through all channels of communication. She advised and coached on communication tactics to create safety and motivation in communication with constituents, whether in person or through all the different forms of mass communication.
Megan managed:
Three mass mailings of postcards
Two political campaign events
Social Media Strategy
Designed and Managed Website
Paid Per Click Marketing Strategies
Response strategy during moments of crisis and stress
Dark money and polarization were components of this non-partisan campaign. There were many moments of quick pivoting to handle negative communications with prosocial and motivational strategies. Megan was able to be adaptive and available for on-the-spot strategizing and processing to make the most informed decisions for the campaign while supporting Kurt in being in line with his values.
Kurt Reppart | Former Grand Rapids City Commissioner
“ I was serving as a City Commissioner here in Grand Rapids at the time and Megan was an integral part of my campaign team. She created all of the marketing/branding/communication materials for my campaign. I was drawn to her unique approach that uses language to honor the nervous system and communicate with an understanding of trauma and how language can create a sense of safety and belonging. All of the work we did together was high quality, impactful, and the work came with ease. There was plenty of creative experimentation in these strange political times we live in. We tried a wide variety of new ways of connecting with voters and neighbors. We had such wonderful alignment with regards to policy and how to truly create change for marginalized individuals and communities in our City. She brought a thorough systemic understanding to this ‘political’ work and often coached me on how I could show up in new ways”
