Somatic Healing
Reconnect with Your Body. Regulate Your Nervous System. Reclaim Ease.
Healing is not about fixing yourself—it’s about returning to the wisdom already within you.
Get to the Root.
Somatic healing sessions are a space to slow down, reconnect with your body, and gently shift patterns of stress, overwhelm, and disconnection. We address the root of unmet developmental needs and work with the parts of your psyche that are asking to be witnessed.
Through nervous system regulation, guided somatic practices, and deep presence, you will learn how to navigate life with more ease, self-trust, and embodied awareness. These sessions offer a gentle, client-led approach to healing that honors your unique pace and experience
What is Somatic Healing?
Somatic healing is a body-first approach to processing stress, trauma, and emotions. Instead of just talking about what’s wrong, we work with your body’s natural wisdom to shift patterns of tension, overwhelm, and dysregulation. This work is especially powerful for:
Nervous system dysregulation (chronic stress, anxiety, freeze states)
Trauma and stored tension in the body
Boundaries, self-trust, and emotional resilience
Neurodivergent individuals needing a sensory-friendly healing space
Anyone ready to feel at home in their body again
Core Components
Somatic healing is an integrative approach that reconnects you with your body’s innate wisdom, helping you shift from survival mode into a more regulated, embodied state. Here are the key components:
-
Somatic healing starts with understanding and working with the autonomic nervous system. By learning how to recognize and respond to stress responses (fight, flight, freeze, fawn), you gain the tools to move toward greater resilience, ease, and presence in daily life.
-
Somatic work helps you listen to the subtle cues of your body—tension, breath, sensation—allowing you to process emotions and stored trauma at a deeper level. This awareness builds self-trust and a more intuitive connection to yourself.
-
Since trauma and stress are stored in the body, healing isn’t just about talking—it’s about moving. Gentle somatic practices like breathwork, grounding techniques, intuitive movement, and guided body awareness allow you to release stored tension and integrate new patterns of safety and connection.
-
Healing doesn’t happen in isolation. In a somatic session, you experience co-regulation, where being witnessed in a safe, supportive space allows your nervous system to rewire for trust, connection, and stability.
-
Parts work recognizes that we hold multiple aspects of self, some of which may still be operating from old wounds or protective mechanisms. By working with these parts—not forcing them away but integrating them with compassion—we create space for inner harmony and self-leadership. This process helps you feel more whole, aligned, and able to move forward without inner conflict.
-
The body and mind are deeply interconnected, and visualization is a powerful tool for somatic release. Guided imagery, metaphor, and energetic mapping help access deeper layers of healing, allowing stagnant emotions, tension, or trauma to move through the system in a way that feels safe, natural, and restorative. Megan may ask you to add color, texture, or another descriptor to an uncomfortable feeling to help transform it and make it less threatening to work with. These practices support your ability to reshape your inner landscape, creating new pathways for ease and resilience.
-
Somatic healing offers tools to process emotions without getting stuck in them. Instead of reactivating distressing memories, we gently work with what is present, allowing the body to release stored stress in a way that feels safe and manageable.
-
Somatic healing isn’t about quick fixes—it’s about building long-term resilience. Sessions include practices you can integrate into your daily life, supporting you in navigating challenges with more regulation, self-compassion, and choice.
What to Expect in a Session…
Each session is a collaborative and intuitive process, tailored to what your nervous system needs that day. While every session is unique, here’s a general flow:
Grounding & Check-In: We start by noticing where you are in your body and how you’re feeling in the moment.
Somatic Practices: Depending on your needs, we use gentle movement, breathwork, guided awareness, or resourcing techniques to regulate your nervous system.
Exploration & Integration – We uncover patterns, process emotions, and strengthen your connection to your body. This is a space of curiosity, not force.
Landing Your System - Each session ends with a moment of integration and practical tools to continue your healing outside of our time together
Virtual vs. In-Person Somatic Sessions
-
Virtual sessions allow you to receive deep somatic support from the comfort of your own space, making this a great option for those who prefer flexibility, privacy, or don’t have access to local somatic practitioners.
Virtual sessions are ideal if: You feel safe exploring somatic work in your own space, travel frequently, or want a more accessible way to engage in deep healing.
Megan will bring these aspects to a virtual session:
Guided nervous system regulation and body-based awareness exercises you can do at home
Visualization and parts work to move stuck energy safely in a familiar environment
Support in creating personalized regulation tools that fit your daily life
Megan works globally and will modify sessions according to virtual client needs.
-
In-person sessions offer a more immersive, relational experience, incorporating physical presence and environmental cues to enhance regulation and healing. You will experience consent based touch and releases to help deepen the somatic experiencing.
These are unique attributes of in person sessions:
Hands-on guidance (if desired) for grounding and releasing stored tension
Somatic touch techniques (such as gentle pressure or assisted movement) to support deeper integration
A structured healing space free from daily distractions, allowing for deep focus
Co-regulation through presence and nervous system attunement in a shared space
Grounding and movement practices using the full environment
Access to unique practitioner tools for enhanced healing.
In-person sessions are ideal if: You feel more regulated in a dedicated space, benefit from hands-on support, or want a fully immersive somatic experience.
